A ride forecast for every route you've saved

Velvind is compatible with Strava. Connect your account in the app, choose the routes you ride, and each one gets the wind, rain, temperature and daylight at the time you'll be there.
The Routes tab, “Kindest if you leave now”: Krokskogen, Maridalen, Bygdøy & Snarøya, Nesodden and Skar, each with its distance, climb, time and a line on the ride if you leave now.
The Routes tab, in the order your routes ride if you leave now: dry first, then the wind and the cold. These are the app's demo routes.

Bring your routes in

  • Connect your Strava account in the app. Velvind lists the routes you've saved there, with the ones you're likely to ride already ticked.
  • Keep the ticks, change them, or bring every route. You can change your choice whenever you like; unticking a route removes Velvind's copy.
  • New routes come over by themselves only if you ask for that. Otherwise the app asks first.

Routes don't have to come from Strava: a GPX, TCX or FIT file or a Ride with GPS link works the same way. See weather along a GPX route.

What each route gets

  • Your arrival time at every point, from your usual speed, the climbs and the wind.
  • The wind along the route, split into head, cross and tailwind for each stretch.
  • Rain where you'll be when it falls, the temperature it feels like, and when you'll need lights.
  • ⚡ the kindest start across the next nine days, and one word when an added ride's forecast turns.

Your routes stay yours

  • A route from Strava is shown only to you. It never appears on a share link or a public page.
  • A group ride made from a Strava route shares the meeting point, never the route's line.
  • Delete a route on Strava and it leaves Velvind at the next sync.
  • Disconnect Strava whenever you like; deleting your Velvind account disconnects it too.
