Short and honest, like the forecast: what you can expect from Velvind, and what Velvind expects from you.

A forecast is a forecast

Velvind turns weather-model data (Open-Meteo) into a reading of your ride. It is a judgment aid, not a guarantee: models miss, mountains make their own weather, and conditions change faster than any forecast. You decide whether and how to ride, and you ride at your own risk.

The service

Velvind is provided as-is, run by one person. It may change, pause, or gain and lose features without notice. If something breaks, it will be fixed as fast as one pair of hands allows.

Your routes stay yours

You keep all rights to the routes and plans you bring in. Sharing a route or group ride creates a link that makes that ride visible to anyone holding it — sharing is your call, and you can delete the ride to end it.

Connected services

Strava import is optional and one-way, and your use of it is also governed by Strava's own terms. Maps come from Mapbox, forecasts from Open-Meteo; their availability is theirs to control.

Fair use

Don't scrape the service, hammer the forecast endpoints, probe other riders' data, or use Velvind for anything unlawful. Accounts doing so can be removed.
