About the route
The highest mountain pass in Northern Europe: from Lom up Bøverdalen to over 1,400 m at Sognefjellshytta, then down the steep bends past Turtagrø to Skjolden at the head of the Lustrafjord. Over the top there are many kilometres with no shelter, and it can be far colder than in the valleys at either end. The climb from Lom is long and steady; the descent to Skjolden is steep.
